This figural Tom Cat cookie jar was made in the 1970's. It was made and hand painted in Japan and was marketed in the US by Takahashi of San Francisco. Tom Cat and the Kliban Cat were very popular in the 1970's and remain popular with collectors today.
This figural cookie jar is hand painted and nicely detailed. The cookie jar measures about 8 1/2 inches tall and is about 5 1/2 inches wide at the base. There are no chips or cracks and the hand painted colors are bright and vibrant.
This piece is a cat lovers delight and will make a great kitchen accessory piece. Just add cookies and listen to your kids purr!
