This wood frame pack was made and marketed by the US Bobbin & Shuttle Specialty Products Division under the name US Pak-Carrier. Ads for the pack appeared in Boy's Life and targeted scouts and hikers.
The wooden frame pack, backpack is in good shape and makes a great display piece. The wood is nicely aged but there is no sign of deterioration from moisture. The original shoulder straps are still in one piece and in good shape. There is some rawhide left from the straps but it could use some new rawhide if desired.
The frame pack has 2 curved boards and a platform to lash hiking supplies. If you are a hiker or have a hiking or backpacking shop this is a great antique piece for display.
This wooden backpack or frame pack is in great shape. It was made in 1931 and still has most of it's original equipment.
This is a piece of great hiking or scouting memorabilia.
The pack would also be perfect for re-purposing as a wall shelf in a rustic decor.
